Open House/Public Hearing

This event was hosted by the Bonneville Power Administration and the Washington State Department of Ecology in Port Angeles as part of the Draft EIS comment process. Sea Breeze was in attendance to answer questions raised by members of the public.
Community Meeting

On May 24, 2007, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Sea Breeze hosted a Community Meeting at the Town of View Royal Council Chambers to discuss the Juan de fuca Cable Project.
The meeting focused primarily on the proposed segment of the alignment that runs along the E & N Rail Corridor.
The format was that of an open house, with no set speeches or presentations.
The purpose of the event was to provide residents with information as well as provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions about the project. Sea Breeze representatives were on-hand to answer questions and talk about the project.

Community information session on
High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology and static Electromagnetic
Fields:
Tuesday, April 25, 6pm-8pm
Location: Strawberry Vale & District Community
Club, 11 High Street at Burnside Road W.
Dr. William H. Bailey, one of North America's top
experts in the study of static (DC) fields, made a
presentation on HVDC fields and answered questions.
Technical specialists were also in attendance to discuss
HVDC technology. This session was scheduled in response
to the desire of the public to learn about HVDC technology
and static EMFs.
Esquimalt Public Meeting
October 26th, 2005: Sea Breeze Pacific hosted a public
meeting to introduce the Project to Esquimalt residents
and to give a presentation and project update to local
residents and answer questions.

September 15th, 2005: Sea Breeze Pacific hosted an
Open House to introduce the Juan de Fuca Project to
View Royal residents at the Strawberry Vale & District
Community Club.
District of Highlands Open House
September 7th, 2005: Sea Breeze Pacific hosted an
Open House to introduce the Juan de Fuca Project to
Highland residents at the Caleb Pike Heritage House.
Vancouver Island Open House
July 13th, 2005: Sea Breeze Pacific held an open house
in Esquimalt for residents living along the proposed
route of the buried cable and local community groups.
Port Angeles Open House
On May 24th, Bonneville Power Administration (BPA)
hosted an Open House in Port Angeles. The purpose of
the public meeting was to introduce the Project to
local residents and to solicit public comments for
consideration in establishing the scope and content
of the Environmental Impact Statement. Sea Breeze and
BPA representatives attended the meeting and answered
questions and recorded comments from attendees.
BPA will be assessing the environmental impacts of
the project in compliance with the National Environmental
Policy Act (NEPA).
